Tata Tiago NRG Launched at an introductory price of INR 5.49 Lakhs for the petrol version and INR 6.31 Lakhs for the diesel version (ex-showroom Delhi)

The Tata Tiago NRG is a crosshatch version and it seems to hit the right sweet spot. Although the Tiago NRG will be the first production cross hatch car from Tata’s stable, the Indian manufacturer had showcased the crosshatch version of the Vista back in 2003, but it never went into production.

Tata is providing the Tiago NRG with a black body kit that features dual tone bumpers that also gets integrated silver scuff plates at front and rear. In addition to this, it also gets side skirts and black trim surrounding the wheel arches. The B-Pillar, ORVM’s, roof and the front grille have been blacked out which gives it a sporty look.

Along with this it also gets roof rails and a sporty spoiler. The Tiago NRG runs in four-spokes, 14-inch alloy wheels which get a dual tone finish. At the rear, it gets thick black trim over the boot which holds the Tiago badge on the left and the NRG badge on the right. In comparison with the Tiago Hatchback, the Tiago NRG is longer, wider and taller. To be specific, the Tiago NRG measures a length of 3793mm, 1665mm in width, 1587mm in height and the ground clearance is also increased to 180mm.

The seats get grey fabric upholstery, but the headrests are fixed and only the driver’s seat gets 6-way adjustments along with height adjustment. The standard safety kit on the Tata Tiago NRG consists of front dual airbags, ABS with EBD and Corner Stability Control.

Just like the standard Tiago hatchback, even the Tiago NRG comes powered with both the petrol and diesel mills and it comes coupled with a five-speed manual transmission. The petrol version gets a 1.2-litre unit, that produces 84 bhp of power and 114Nm of twist. On the other hand, the diesel version gets the 1.0-litre unit which generates 70 PS of power and 140Nm of torque.

The Tiago NRG is available in 3 dual tone paint schemes- Fuji White, Canyon Orange and Malabar Silver. this cross-hatch competes against the Maruti Suzuki Clerio X and the Ford Freestyle.
