The competition in the D-segment when it comes to SUV is get bigger day by day. It all started with the Mahindra XUV 500 and now everybody wants a piece of cake. Hyundai Tuscon is the next big thing that will come with a lot of engine and gearbox options and even this time, Honda has decided to join the party. Honda will be introducing a diesel engine in the CR-V to take on the likes of these SUV’s. It’s on par with its rival in terms of size and road presence. CRV diesel is reply to that and it is coming to India next year. Honda has the engine and capability. We tell you in detail what do you expect from Honda CRV Diesel India launch.
Honda CRV Diesel India Engine, Gearbox and Specification
As of now we all know that the CRV continues to get a petrol engine with manual and automatic options. The 2.0 petrol, the 2.4 petrol, that is mated to a manual gearbox and automatic gearbox respectively. The 2.4 has four-wheel drive as option and delivers 12 km/l and the 2.0 manual FWD engine delivers 13.7 km/l. 2.0 l makes 156 PS while the 2.4 l petrol makes 190 PS. 2.0 petrol gets a 6-speed manual.
Diesel is expected to be a 1.6 unit that will churn out 120 BHP and a large amount of torque which stands at 350 Nm. The engine will be EURO 6 compliant and will continue to work with our fuel quality. The 1.5 diesel engine came from this 1.6 diesel unit which is best known for delivering exceptionally good fuel efficiency and decent performance despite it also criticized for its NVH levels in India and worldwide. Motor will be mated to Honda’s brand new 9-speed gearbox. Engine runs at a compression ratio of 16:1.

CRV has been ageing, but it is doing well at the hands of Honda design team which seem to be making subtle changes in every area to make it look fresh since the last decade and still making it look a Honda and a CRV at the same time. Coupe-like window line, raised stance, smooth lines, Volvo inspired tail lamps and futuristic grille and head lamps along with well-sculpted bumper makes it look new and fresh.

CRV Diesel India Interiors and Features
Interior will remain the same with the CRV diesel as well. We expect it to be all-black and beige option on top of the trim to keep pricing and customers both happy. High quality materials, with good fit-finish will make the cabin look good. Ample amount of space in all two rows, plus a good amount of boot space which is around the 500 litre mark. Dashboard mounted gear lever and tonnes of connectivity options along with fully electric ORVM, touch screen, climate control, MID, parking sensors, camera, height adjustable seat, sunroof, leather seats and much more.
