Maruti Suzuki is gearing up for the launch of an exciting new model on September 3rd, 2025. While the official name remains under wraps, speculations suggest it could be the Maruti e Vitara electric SUV or a new midsize SUV, potentially dubbed the Maruti Escudo. We’ll need to hold tight for just a few more weeks to find out for sure. The e Vitara has already made an appearance in a nearly production-ready version at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show, while the Escudo has been spotted undergoing testing multiple times. Let’s dive into what we can anticipate from these forthcoming Maruti SUVs.

Maruti Suzuki is also set to introduce a new midsize SUV that will slot between the Brezza and the Grand Vitara. Rumored to be named the ‘Maruti Escudo’, this SUV will compete with popular models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Honda Elevate. Notably, the Escudo is expected to share design elements, interior layout, features, and powertrains with the Grand Vitara. However, it will only be available through Arena dealerships, potentially indicating a more budget-friendly price.

Originally envisioned as a 7-seater version of the Grand Vitara, recent reports now suggest that the Escudo will be a 5-seater SUV built on the Global C platform. Despite its two-row configuration, this new Maruti SUV is anticipated to be longer than the Grand Vitara, potentially even offering more boot space. To keep costs competitive, Maruti Suzuki may opt to offer the Escudo solely with a petrol engine, foregoing a hybrid option. Don’t be surprised if this turns out to be more fuel efficient than Grand Vitara as well! However, will Toyota be allowed to get a version of this is? This is highly unlikely.

Maruti Grand Vitara Sales Reach 2 Lakh In 23 Months!

This will target the Koreans from both ends and take on rivals from all manufacturers and take a big share from the market in the C-SUV segment space from the Koreans who control most of this. Maruti’s mega move could turn the tables in the market given its approach and its maximum utilising of platform. Maruti’s slow and steady push in the premium space will welcome by loyalist and grab its original market share of 50% and above in the near future.
