2017 Skoda Rapid Facelift has been launched and it retains the same qualities and become more impressive

One of few cars that work for Skoda in the country and brings mass volumes is the Skoda Rapid. The car launched in the year 2011 has been updated every single year. Just like its Volkswagen cousins. The Rapid is known for its value for money price tag along with Skoda/VW traits and characteristics that come along with it. Skoda continues to upgrade it and this time we see refreshing changes, last seen in the year 2014 after the main launch in the year 2011.

On the outside, we can see that the Skoda Rapid facelift features a redesigned grille. The headlights will be more inline with the Euro-spec version. This is now a trait with Skoda cars worldwide. The top-end variant seen here has sported projector headlights unit. The headlight change also includes a ‘black smoke’ effect. Same cluster of headlight, but that gets regular halogen bulbs.

The bonnet has been redesigned to host the logo and grille. There is a new crystalline design philosophy. There is chrome on at the front and rear bumper along with on the handles. There is LED DRL that make its way to the car.

When it comes to the interior, everything largely remains the same when you compare it to the recent Volkswagen cars. Same 6.5 color touch screen unit as the recently refreshed Ameo and Polo. we can see there is a MirrorLink system with Bluetooth support, navigation and reverse camera display will be a part of this refresh variant. Apple Car play and Android Auto are part of this list. Rain sensing wipers.

One touch up and down power windows and cruise control are part of the feature list. 2017 Skoda Rapid Facelift Engine, Gearbox and Mileage

There is the similar DSG 7-speed automatic transmission. The gearbox is mated to the 1.5-liter TDI diesel engine. We can see the 110 PS tune on the Rapid this time, thanks to a larger turbocharger, it increases its power output, The torque remains unchanged at 250 Nm. However the tuning will be different and power band will be tweaked for better responses throughout the range. Manual gearbox which is a 5-speed unit as always. Mileage for the 21.72 km/l for DSG diesel 21.13 km/l MT. 1.6 MPi returns 15.41 km/l. and 14.84 km/l.
