2018 Ford Endeavour with new facia spied in the US, could have revised rear as well. Expect minor mechanical changes
Ford, an American car manufacturer has been in the Indian market since the early 2000’s. Famous for cars like the Figo, Aspire, Endeavour and the newly launched Mustang, the company has established a very good name in India. The company is working on a new facelifted Endeavour as we speak.
The new test car has the front end covered, giving a hint that the fenders and plastics give the car a wider stance and robust look in this major update, but is quite hard to tell what has exactly changed. It will also borrow cues from the Ford F-150. It can also get an updated ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) with autonomous emergency braking, as seen in the LIDAR module in the front bumper and cameras.
The car could also feature unlock request buttons on the door handles and start/stop button for keyless entry, which is a standard feature in its rivals. The company could also tune the powertrain for better refinement and fuel economy. There are no plans of a hybrid powertrain at present.
Everything else will be the same for India, a 2.2L four-cylinder TDCi diesel engine which produces a power of 157.5bhp and torque of 385Nm, or a 3.2L five-cylinder TDCi Diesel engine with a power output of 197.18bhp and torque output of 470Nm. All of these will be paired with a 6-speed gearbox, and comes with four-wheel drive as standard. For the International market, there may be an option of a 2.0L Ecoboost engine.
As for the interior, the Endeavour has received an update for its navigation and infotainment, SYNC and can also expect more. The car is expected to be launched sometime later this year, and Ford is expecting a large number of sales this year. Looking forward for the launch.
