2018 Suzuki Ertiga MPV Launch will happen in late 2018. Ertiga has grown in size and should offer new engines with manual and automatic transmissions
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, the country’s largest selling car manufacturer is planning a lot of launches this year and has bigger plans in near future. The very popular Maruti Ertiga was first introduced in the year 2012 and received a facelift in 2015. The company is now busy in getting the second generation of the three row light MPV Maruti Suzuki Ertiga in the showrooms very soon. The MPV has been launched in Indonesia. While the Ertiga has been doing quite good in the competitive Indian market and has been successful in posting segment-leading sales figures since the time of its launch. The new Maruti Ertiga 2018 will help the company to keep up with its sales lead in the MPV segment as the outgoing model is fast aging now.
The 2018 Suzuki Ertiga MPV was codenamed YHA would utilize the HEARTECT platform of the new generation Swift and Dzire. The newer platform is more lighter and safer claims the company. The all new Ertiga will be more spacious and feature loaded. The car will continue to offer 7 seats and a comfortable cabin. To Maintain the family glimpse, the rendering, as would the production model, is built borrowing design cues from the new gen Swift. Upfront the new Ertiga will be seen carrying a hexagonal mesh-grille, restyled bumper, all new projector headlamps with LED DRLs.
At the sides, the overall appeal of the profile is quite an evolution. The rear profile of the family MPV will flaunt all new wraparound tail-lamps, new bumpers, smaller windscreen and much more. Overall the seven seater MPV looks quite stylish and up to date.
Inside, the new Ertiga gets a light shade of beige and it also gets faux wooden inserts. It also gets flat bottom steering and an instrument panel which is also seen in the new Swift. The dashboard houses a new 6.8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and it also gets cooled cup holders. According the spy shots of the second gen Ertiga caught testing in India, it shows that Maruti will be featuring automatic climate control.
The HEARTECT will ensure the next gen 2018 Suzuki Ertiga also has substantial weight savings, leading to improved driving dynamics and fuel efficiency. We can expect advancements in the safety department as well, with a stronger body shell and better safety equipment. Many bits of the interior, such as the dashboard, steering wheel and instrument console, will come from the new Dzire. Also, the new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga 2018 will boast Suzuki’s excellent SmartPlay infotainment system w=unit with a 7-inch touchscreen interface.
Engine options for the 2018 Suzuki Ertiga consist of a new 1.5-litre K-series petrol engine and the much awaited all new 1.5-litre Turbo Diesel motor from Suzuki. The outgoing SHVS diesel model recently saw a huge increase in its price due to the changes in the tax structure owing to the introduction of GST. Hence, the new gen Ertiga is likely to miss out on the SHVS to escape high taxation on the hybrids.
Maruti Suzuki is yet to ;aunch the MPV in India. If reports are to be believed, the new model could be launched in the second half of 2018. The current generation Ertiga is available in two engine options- 1.4-litre petrol and 1.3-litre MJD+SHVS. The outgoing model is priced in the range of Rs. 6.03 – Rs. 8.43 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). With all the new features and platform coming in the new gen Ertiga will be priced a bit higher than the older one. we expect to be priced similarly.
