2019 BMW 5-Series MSport 530i is the top of the line variant but it still has less equipment over the diesel counterpart
BMW has now finally made available seventh-generation 5-series petrol variant in the M Sport trim. Until now, the M Sport trim came only in diesel guise dubbed 530d M Sport variant. The newly added 530i M Sport will complement the 5-series range and sell alongside 530i Sport Line petrol variant.
On the outside, 530i M Sport package features a redesigned front bumper with large air intake, LED headlamps and fog lamps, 18-inch M alloy wheels, dual-tone rear bumper, and rectangular exhaust. Inside the cabin, this petrol M Sport variant gets pearl chrome inserts, aluminum trim, Dakota leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a large 12.3-inch touch screen infotainment system and multi-information display.
The infotainment unit has got the support of satellite-based navigation, gesture control, BMW Apps and Apple CarPlay. Other features which are standard part of the equipment on this M sport variant include remote control parking, display key, park-assist package with 360-degree surround camera, wireless charging, and comfort access system. In comparison to the M Sport diesel variant, this petrol M Sport package misses out on Nappa leather upholstery, heads-up display, four-zone automatic climate control, Sensatec instrument cluster, comfort front seats, lumbar support, and fine-wood trim.
Under the hood, a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine powers the BMW 530i M Sport. This gasoline motor puts out 248bhp@5,200 rpm and 350Nm@1,450-4,800 rpm of max power and max torque respectively. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission which can also be operated through paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel.
2019 BMW 5-Series MSport 530i comes at a price of 59.25 lakh ex-showroom Mumbai and 70.25 Lakhs on-road Mumbai. The M Sport variant is available in four different colors – Black Sapphire, Alpine White, Bluestone, and Mediterranean blue.
