2019 Skoda Superb Facelift comes to subtle changes to the front and back making it more attractive and interesting over the current version
Ahead of its official debut at 2019 Geneva Motor Show, the new spy images of facelift Skoda Superb have been leaked. The test mule of the new Superb has been spied on a number of occasions though each time; the spotted model was camouflaged heavily making it difficult to recognize the changes in the new model. However, the latest spy shots captured Superb testing without any disguise and hence, revealed important details of car’s exteriors.
Up front, the facelift Superb comes with a redesigned face consisting of a new grille, bumper, and redesigned headlamp assembly. The signature butterfly grill on the Superb is now flanked by new headlamp clusters featuring the new Bi-xenon lighting elements.
Other important features include fog lamps, new graphics, LED tail lamps, and newly designed alloy wheels. Overall, the new Superb comes across as a handsome, contemporary design which has a unique air of understated beauty to it. As far as interiors are concerned, the new Superb is expected to improve on the technology, comfort, and convenience features available on the currently selling model.
Facelift Superb will be the first model in Skoda’s line-up to receive plug-in hybrid power train technology. It will feature a 1.4-liter TSI turbocharged petrol engine putting out 156PS that will be complemented by 115PS generated by an electric motor powered by a 12kWH battery pack.
The total output of the car is rated at 217PS and Superb will offer an electric range of 70 kilometers. The other engine options include a 1.8-liter TSI petrol with 180bhp and 320Nm and a 2.0-liter TDI motor which currently produce 177bhp along with 350Nm of max torque.
