Italian two-wheeler maker Benelli’s Chinese cousin is readying a new line-up of products for the local market. The new line-up of premium motorcycles will be badged as QJ and Benelli, depending on the market they will be sold in, helping parent company Qianjiang Group establish its presence in multiple markets. While we’ve shown you a number of QJ motorcycles in the past, the latest leaked images reveal the newest QJ offering – the SRT 500. If this looks familiar to you, it is, because this is the Benelli TRK 502 sold in India. Let’s look at the 2021 Benelli TRK 502 what it could offer.
The new 2021 Benelli TRK 502 will share its underpinnings, but QJT does get changes of its own. The bike gets a more clutter-free design over the TRK 502 with a more proportionate design. The front beak and body panels are simpler and the bike has a nice super-moto touch to its design. In fact, the new SRT 500 is lighter than the TRK 502 by 10 kg with a kerb weight of 225 kg. The dimensions on both motorcycles though are identical, according to the documents leaked.
The 2021 Benelli TRK 502 is expected to be offered in at least 3 variants, which will include a road-biased offering with alloy wheels, Marzocchi forks and an aluminium swingarm. The other two versions will come with wire-spoked wheels, a steel swingarm and a long-travel suspension set-up. The off-road spec SRT 500 will come with Brembo brakes on the range-topping model, while the base variant is expected to get non-branded brakes.
The 2021 Benelli TRK 502 will also share its powertrain with the Benelli motorcycle. The bikes will use the 500cc twin-cylinder engine that could see a revision in terms of power output. The engine is expected to produce about 48PS, while paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
