2025 Tesla Model Y India Launch Price Revealed

The Tesla Model Y has officially made its debut in India, starting at Rs 59.89 lakh (ex-showroom). This launch coincides with the unveiling of Tesla’s first showroom located in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex. The Model Y is offered in two variants: Standard and Long Range, with bookings now open.

The Standard version boasts a WLTP range of up to 500 km and accelerates from 0-100 kph in 5.9 seconds. In contrast, the Long Range variant features a WLTP range of 622 km and can go from 0-100 kph in just 5.6 seconds. Both variants operate on a rear-wheel-drive system and are capable of reaching a top speed of 201 kph.

Inside, the Tesla Model Y is packed with premium features, including a 15.3-inch central touchscreen, power-adjustable, heated, and ventilated front seats, two-way folding heated rear seats, a 9-speaker audio system, an 8-inch rear touchscreen, ambient lighting, powered front and rear AC vents, and eight exterior cameras. Additionally, it offers a panoramic glass sunroof. Customers in India also have the option to add Tesla’s renowned Auto Pilot feature—providing autonomous driving capabilities—for an extra Rs 6 lakh.

Tesla backs the Model Y with a warranty of 4 years or 80,000 km, whichever comes first, while the battery and drive unit enjoy a significantly longer warranty of 8 years or 1,92,000 km.

Although the Model Y is imported fully into its deliveries for the Standard variant are anticipated to start in Q3 of 2025, followed by the Long Range variant in Q4 of the same year.

In terms of color options, the Model Y is available in six shades, with Stealth Grey being the standard choice. For Rs 95,000, buyers can select either Pearl White Multi-coat or Diamond Black, while Glacier Blue will cost Rs 1,25,000. The last two choices, Quicksilver and Ultra Red, will be priced at Rs 1,85,000 each.

The interior comes in all black as standard, though an optional black and white interior can be added for Rs 95,000.

One noteworthy optional feature is full self-driving, which provides near-complete autonomous driving capabilities with minimal driver involvement. This feature is available where legal in select international markets and can be added for Rs 6 lakh.

Customers can place their orders for the Tesla Model Y through the brand’s Indian website with a non-refundable deposit of Rs 22,220, followed by an additional Rs 3 lakh to be paid within 7 days. Deposit payments are accepted via card or UPI. The rival list in India is huge and model Y has tough competition awaiting it. Stay tuned for a report on the same.
