Mercedes-Benz is set to launch the highly anticipated GLC Electric SUV in India on November 4, 2026, with bookings opening in October. We have been talking about ever since its global reveal and we are quite excited for this one! Marking a significant milestone for the brand, the luxury EV will be locally assembled at Mercedes-Benz’s Chakan plant in Pune. Remarkably, this makes it the fastest global model to arrive in India as a locally assembled vehicle, reaching the Indian market just six months after its European sales debut.
Offered in the high-performance 400 4Matic trim, the GLC Electric boasts impressive capabilities powered by a 94kWh battery pack that delivers a claimed WLTP range of up to 715km. Equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system generating a robust 490hp and 800Nm of torque, the 2.5-tonne SUV achieves an exhilarating 0–100kph sprint in just 4.3 seconds. Everyday usability is further enhanced by ultra-fast 330kW DC charging, capable of adding up to 300km of range in merely 10 minutes, alongside advanced dynamics like 4.5-degree rear-axle steering and adaptive air suspension.
Visually captivating, the luxury EV stands out with striking illuminated grille elements, star-shaped LED daytime running lights, projector headlights, and up to 21-inch alloy wheels. The cabin elevates tech luxury to new heights, centered around a breathtaking 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen—the largest display ever fitted to a Mercedes-Benz vehicle. Seamlessly integrating driver instrumentation, central infotainment, and a dedicated passenger screen powered by a 4th-generation AI assistant, the interior combines futuristic innovation with the comfort of physical controls and premium five-seat spaciousness. Expected to be priced between ₹80 lakh and ₹90 lakh (ex-showroom), the GLC Electric is positioned to set a benchmark in the Indian luxury EV segment. Sampled the CLA EV recently has made us believe that the GLC can take off and give tough time to the competition!
