Mercedes-Benz India has announced the addition of the CLA 200 ‘Standard Range’ variant to its upcoming CLA BEV lineup. This new entry-level option was introduced following customer feedback and will be sold alongside the CLA 250+ ‘Long Range’. While both variants feature similar internal equipment levels, they differ in styling, range, and charging specifications.
The CLA 200 ‘Standard Range’ utilizes ‘Progressive Line’ styling, including comfort seats and a multifunction sports leather steering wheel. It offers a WLTP-rated range of 542 km. In comparison, the CLA 250+ ‘Long Range’ features ‘AMG Line’ styling and a higher range of 792 km. Both vehicles are built on an 800V architecture. Using a 240 kW DC fast charger, the CLA 250+ can add 400 km of range in 20 minutes, while the CLA 200 adds 320 km in the same timeframe. The maximum DC charging speed for the CLA 200 is 200 kW.
The tentative ex-showroom prices are set at Rs 55 lakhs for the CLA 200 and Rs 59 lakhs for the CLA 250+. These figures remain subject to foreign exchange rates at the time of the mid-April 2026 launch. Bookings for both models are now open with a requirement of Rs 1.5 lakhs. Deliveries for the Long Range variant are scheduled to begin at the end of April 2026, followed by the Standard Range in June 2026.
Customers may purchase a 22 kW wall box charger for household use at a cost of Rs 50,000, which includes installation. However, those who pre-book the CLA BEV will receive this charger at no additional cost. For public charging, users have access to a network of over 9,000 points via MB.CHARGE. The vehicles also include an MBUX Virtual Assistant with navigation designed to optimize charging stops during travel.Company
