The mid-size sedan segment is about to get a major dose of excitement. After nearly five successful years in the Indian market, Skoda is ready to introduce the highly anticipated facelift of the Slavia. Set to officially launch in mid August 2026. The updated sedan promises to bring a refreshed design language, upgraded cabin tech, and a significant mechanical tweak to keep it highly competitive against rivals like the Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus, and Honda City.

While the core silhouette of the Slavia remains identical, Skoda has focused heavily on refining the front and rear profiles to align with their modern family design language.

Expect a flatter, more aggressive slatted grille inspired by the recently updated Kushaq. The front bumper features revised lower air dams with a new hexagonal mesh pattern, flanked by sleeker LED headlight housings and a dotted LED DRL setup.
The sweeping roofline is retained, but the sedan will ride on newly designed 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
The rear is where some of the most striking changes occur. The Slavia facelift is expected to feature a connected LED taillight setup spanning the width of the boot, complete with illuminated “SKODA” lettering and a flattened, wider rear bumper.

Skoda is borrowing several successful elements from its latest SUV line-up to elevate the Slavia’s cabin experience. While the overall dashboard layout remains familiar, the technology and comfort levels have seen a bump.

The center console will likely house a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, paired with a crisp 10.25-inch digital driver’s display.
Fresh upholstery options and new trim finishes will breathe new life into the cabin. Features like ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, and a premium sound system will be carried forward.
Early rumors suggested a panoramic sunroof and Level 2 ADAS; however, recent test mules indicate that Skoda will stick with a standard single-pane electric sunroof and rely on its existing robust safety suite (including 6 airbags, ESC, and multi-collision braking) for now.

Skoda Slavia with MY2024 updates

Under the hood, the Slavia retains its punchy and reliable turbo-petrol engines, but with a highly requested update to its automatic transmission line-up.

The smaller capacity engine will continue to offer a 6-speed manual gearbox. However, the older 6-speed torque converter is being replaced by a brand-new **8-speed torque converter automatic transmission**. This new 8-speed unit aims to provide smoother shifts, better fuel efficiency, and a more refined city driving experience.

The performance-oriented 1.5-litre engine remains strictly for enthusiasts. It will carry forward the lightning-fast 7-speed DSG (Dual-Clutch) transmission, ensuring the Slavia remains one of the most thrilling sedans to drive in its class. The manual marriage between the 1.5 TSi engine is highly unlikely.

With a starting price expected to hover around the **₹10.99 Lakh** mark, the 2026 Skoda Slavia facelift aims to double down on what made the original so popular: driving dynamics, solid build quality, and timeless European styling. Should you get your discounted Slavia now or waited for mildly upgraded version? Both are clearly great options over the Hyundai Verna!
