2027 Mercedes-Benz GLS Facelift has been revealed globally. The updated GLS includes a sensor suite consisting of ten cameras, five radar units, and twelve ultrasonic sensors managed by the MB.OS operating system. This architecture enables over-the-air updates to keep vehicle software current. The standard MBUX Superscreen integrates three 12.3-inch displays under a single glass surface. For rear passengers, the Rear Comfort Package Plus and the MBUX high-end rear entertainment system provide two 11.6-inch displays and removable remote controls. The GLS features a new range of electrified powertrains designed for higher power and improved agility. These engines utilize 48-volt mild hybrid technology to provide a more responsive driving experience.
Mechanical updates include the AIRMATIC system with cloud-based damper regulation, which adjusts damping before encountering road bumps. Additionally, the E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL system analyzes driving data 1,000 times per second to adapt the suspension. Exterior changes feature a larger radiator grille with a chrome frame and an upright Mercedes star on the bonnet that can be illuminated in specific markets. The car will compete against the likes of the BMW X7, Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90 in India.
