The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class features technical and design updates, including the first integration of the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS) and fourth-generation MBUX. The vehicle will be available for order in European markets starting 25 March 2026, with production beginning at the Sindelfingen plant in April 2026
The radiator grille has been increased in size by 20% and includes an illuminated frame and wordmark. Depending on the market, the C-pillar emblem and the hood-mounted star may also be illuminated.The headlamps feature rose-gold accents, and the air intakes contain chrome Maybach patterns.A new feature for silver-finish forged wheels is a floating center star that remains upright via a ball-bearing mechanism while the vehicle is in motion. New wheel options include 20-inch and 21-inch designs, with the Night Series package now offering a nautic blue metallic exterior paint.
The interior includes the MBUX Superscreen, which combines 36.6-centimeter and 31.2-centimeter displays. New material options include open-pore oak and amber-brown wood. For the first time, a leather-free interior is available, utilizing “Mirville” textile (a linen and recycled polyester blend) and ARTICO man-made leather
The rear cabin features two 31.3-centimeter displays with dedicated remote controls and integrated cameras for video conferencing. Functional additions include:
Automatic Comfort Doors: Rear doors that can be operated via button or MBUX
Refrigerated Compartment: A removable 10-liter unit located behind the rear armrest
Active Ambient Lighting: Utilizes 199 LEDs with 64 selectable colors
MANUFAKTUR Program: Offers over 150 exterior paints and 400 interior colors, with a “Made to Measure” service for bespoke configurations
The engine lineup consists of electrified six- and eight-cylinder units, with a V12 remaining available in select markets. The S 680 features an updated V8 (M 177 Evo) producing $450\text{ kW} + 17\text{ kW}$, while the S 580 e plug-in hybrid offers an all-electric range of approximately 100 kilometers. All models utilize mild-hybrid technology (ISG 2.0) and a dedicated MAYBACH driving mode focused on ride quality.
MB.OS introduces a virtual assistant powered by generative AI from partners like Microsoft and Google. The vehicle’s suspension, AIRMATIC, now uses Car-to-X information to predictively adjust damping based on road data transmitted from other vehicles.Driving assistance is managed by the MB.DRIVE ASSIST suite, which supports automated parking—including diagonal spaces—and point-to-point travel in urban environments, starting in China and the USA.
