The Mahindra Thar facelift is gearing up for its launch next year, and it’s been spotted undergoing tests near the stunning hills of Ooty! Although the model is sporting some camouflage, we can already catch glimpses of striking design features, like the fresh grille boasting those sleek double-stacked slots. These spy shots also reaffirm many of the thrilling details we shared earlier.
The front-end design is getting a whole new vibe, featuring everything from the revamped grille to the reshaped bumpers that now cleverly incorporate fog lamp housings. And that’s not all! The facelift is set to flaunt brand-new alloy wheels and eye-catching C-shaped LED signatures in both the headlights and tail-lights. But wait, there’s even more excitement inside!
The interior of the Thar facelift is borrowing some fantastic elements from the 5-door Roxx. Expect to see a new steering wheel, convenient A-pillar-mounted grab handles, and a stylish center console right in front of the gear lever, hinting at the addition of a cool wireless charger! Plus, let’s not forget the power window switches and a massive 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen that will take your driving experience to a whole new level.
The spy photos reveal that the model being tested is the Thar RWD, powered by a lively 1.5-litre diesel engine that’s currently cranking out 117hp and 300Nm of torque, all paired with a smooth 6-speed manual transmission. And for those craving even more power, the Thar will also keep the robust 152hp, 2.0-litre petrol engine, available with both manual and automatic options, as well as RWD and 4WD versions. Plus, the trusty 132hp 2.2-litre engine will be sticking around in both 4WD manual and automatic setups.
