Aprilia India is set to expand its scooter lineup with the launch of the SR 175. This new model has started to land at select dealerships nationwide and will take over from the SR 160, bringing along a host of improvements designed to enhance the riding experience.

The SR 175 features an upgraded 174.7cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder, 3-valve engine, which builds on the foundation of the SR 160’s motor but has been fine-tuned to deliver improved performance. With an output of 12.92 HP at 7200 RPM and 14.14 Nm of torque at 6000 RPM, the SR 175 shows a noticeable boost compared to the SR 160, which offered 11.27 HP and 13.44 Nm. This increase in engine capacity has been achieved by expanding its engine and to make sure it meets future emission norms.

The chassis setup largely mirrors that of its predecessor, sporting 14-inch alloy wheels outfitted with wide 120-section tires and a front disc brake along with single-channel ABS. However, the SR 175 introduces significant feature upgrades as well. A standout addition is the new color TFT display, which is influenced by Aprilia’s RS 457 and Tuono 457 motorcycles. The digital instrument cluster enhances connectivity with Bluetooth capabilities through the Aprilia app, allowing users to pair their smartphones, receive call notifications, and control music—an upgrade from the standard LCD screens on the current SR and SXR models.

Styling-wise, the SR 175 retains the sporty design aesthetic of the SR 160, characterized by its sharp lines and aggressive posture. Yet, it embraces a refreshed color palette inspired by the RS 457, showcasing striking white/red and purple/red variations that have surfaced online.

While Aprilia has yet to announce official pricing, sources from dealerships indicate that the SR 175 may be positioned around Rs. 1.40 lakhs (ex-showroom), closely matching the current SR 160, which is priced between Rs. 1.32 lakhs and Rs. 1.42 lakhs.

The official launch of the SR 175 in India is scheduled for July 2025, with more details expected to be revealed as the date approaches.
