A captivating spy shot has surfaced online, revealing the Hero Glamour equipped with an LCD dashboard and switchgear that hints at cruise control features.
The photos feature a test mule likely belonging to the Hero Glamour, which is part of the brand’s commuter lineup. Instead of traditional black-and-white camouflage, this bike sports brown duct tape.
Notably, it sports a color LCD dashboard taken from the Xtreme 250R, complete with a vertical rev-counter. However, in keeping with its budget-friendly nature, some elements, like an oil temperature indicator, are missing from the display.
The standout feature here is the potential addition of cruise control, which would be a first for any Hero motorcycle. It’s particularly intriguing that this feature is being tested on a commuter model rather than higher-end bikes like the Mavrick 440, Xpulse 210, or Xtreme 250R. If Hero can launch this at its current price point of Rs 95,098—or with only a minor increase—it could claim the title of the most affordable motorcycle featuring cruise control, a title currently held by the Apache RTR 310. This feature could make it to the upcoming 400cc motorcycles.
One aspect to watch will be whether this cruise control system incorporates ride-by-wire technology, the most common implementation method. If that’s the case, it could significantly raise costs, which might not resonate well in the price-sensitive 125cc segment. Currently, the Hero Glamour is available in two variants—standard and Xtec. The Xtec models are generally richer in features, and we anticipate that these new features, including the almighty cruise control functionality might debut with this version. This is a serious fight against the TVS Raider and less against anyone else. Hero is hitting back hard with features too after a great design and dynamic package being offered with most of their motorcycles.
