Triumph Motorcycles, with over 120 years of motorcycling heritage, today announced that its popular 400cc range will continue at the same ex-showroom prices. This decision follows the recent upward GST revision from 28% to 40% on motorcycles above 350cc. In what comes as a surprise move for many in the industry, Triumph and Bajaj Auto have chosen to absorb the impact entirely, ensuring that ownership costs remain unaffected.
This move is noteworthy for India’s fast-growing mid-capacity motorcycle segment, where the Triumph Speed 400, Speed T4, Scrambler 400X and the newly launched Thruxton 400 have carved out a strong position since their launch. Their combination of classic design, modern performance, and overall refinement has made them favourites among new-age riders and contributed to Triumph’s sustained growth in India over the past two years.
When combined with long intervals between service, low service costs, the power of global engineering, built-in world-class facilities in Chakan, and now no increase in ex-showroom prices, Triumph continues to deliver outstanding value in their class. This measured step not only strengthens Triumph’s customer-first philosophy but also reflects the long-term vision of Bajaj Auto Ltd. to expand the reach of world-class motorcycles in India.

KTM India also today announced that it will maintain ex-showroom prices across its 390cc range, despite the recent increase in GST on motorcycles above 350 cc to 40%. By absorbing the incremental impact, KTM has ensured that riders can continue enjoying its racing DNA on favourites like the 390 Duke, 390 Adventure, and RC 390, without any additional costs, starting this festive season.
For KTM models below 350cc i.e. the 160 Duke, 200 Duke, 250 Duke etc., the benefit of the GST reduction has been directly passed on, allowing riders to experience the same high-performance engineering at even more accessible prices.
This move reinforces KTM’s strong presence in India’s premium motorcycle segment, where its performance-first machines have built a loyal following. Known for its “Ready to Race” DNA, KTM continues to deliver unmatched engineering and value, making it the preferred choice for enthusiasts seeking a true sports riding experience.
With no increase in ex-showroom prices, KTM’s 390 Duke, RC & Adventure remain a compelling choice for enthusiasts. This step underscores KTM’s focus on delivering value, while staying true to its legacy of engineering excellence and its promise of keeping riders Ready to Race. Does this move by Bajaj put Royal Enfield under pressure who has passed the ever amount to the customer. Bajaj strengths with its supply chain are being put to the use while RE, the new comer in the 450cc and 650cc space won’t just be able to do this yet.
