The Citroen Basalt has unfortunately received a disappointing 0-star rating from Latin NCAP. The Bharat NCAP with Six Airbags has scored a four star rating. In terms of safety, the SUV-coupe scored 15.75 points for adult occupant protection and 28.59 points for child occupant protection. During the frontal impact test, it provided good protection for the heads and necks of both the driver and passenger. However, the driver’s chest showed only marginal protection, while the passenger’s chest received a weak rating. Both occupants’ knees had marginal protection, and their tibias were rated as adequately protected. When it comes to side impact tests, the head, abdomen, chest, and pelvis exhibited good protection. Notably, the side pole impact test was not conducted because the vehicle lacks standard side head protection airbags.
Regarding the child safety measures, the child seat for the 3-year-old successfully prevented head exposure and provided good protection. Additionally, the child restraint system (CRS) for the 1.5-year-old dummy also prevented head exposure, delivering almost full protection. In the side impact test, the CRS ensured complete safety for the 1.5-year-old. The Bharat NCAP with Six Airbags has scored a four star rating.
