Suzuki GB has announced details of its new off-road training centre, based near Merthyr Tydfil in Wales.
Launched in conjunction with SR75 Suzuki – the off-road racing team operated by industry stalwart Geoff Walker – the school will have a fleet of machines available for riders of all levels and ability to learn on, including the V-Strom 800DE and the V-Strom 1050DE, as well as the newly-launched DR-Z4S.
Based near the Monster Mountain motocross track, the training school has access to over 300 acres of trails of varying complexity, from wide, flat, shale fire roads to more technical, single-track trails. Instruction will focus on everything from the basics of body positioning and throttle control and braking to more advanced skills and how to tackle more challenging terrain.
Instead of large groups of riders, the SR75 Suzuki Off-Road Experience Centre will instead focus on more intimate groups sizes and tailored instruction, with a ratio of no more than three riders to one instructor and no more than six riders in a group in total. This ensures riders will reap the full benefits of their day’s riding experience with their instructors, instead of simply being part of a large group ride-out.
Chief instructor Walker boasts over 30 years of experience when it comes to teaching people how to ride off-road, and he is joined by a team of equally skilled instructors.
Price for a full day’s instruction – including the hire of a V-Strom or DR-Z4S and all fuel and maintenance, refreshments, including teas, coffees, water, and snacks – starts at £300 per person.
