The technical seminar is aimed to bring those aspects of vehicle engineering in conversation that truly matter, when it comes to driving.
This seminar detailed the platform, the powertrain, the architecture and the very specific engineering choices that we have made, that have enabled us to deliver the undisputed “Driver’s car” and overall “Best driving car in the segment” – The Renault Duster!
• The Renault Group Modular Platform – The Duster is the first India spec product based on the RGMP. The platform is extremely flexible and can support different body types, use cases, powertrains and fuel options. This platform will be the basis of several upcoming launches for Renault India.
• True SUV stance – The Duster has the best combination of ground clearance, approach and departure angles, that gives it its True SUV stance while making it very capable across terrains
• Suspension – The suspension features very specific engineering choices, including a super twist beam in the rear, a front anti-roll bar with the widest diameter in the segment, and Multi‑Tuned Valve technology with Concentric Land (MTV‑CL), all of which enable superlative ride and handling.
• Steering and braking feedback – An Electric Power Steering with 100A BLDC Motor provides lower steering effort and good steering returnability. While a 23.8mm Master cylinder, along with low steel low metallic brake pads provide the most confident braking performance in the segment
• Comfort – The comfort quotient for the driver is enhanced through specific choices including
◦ Enhanced sectional width of the cushion and backrest
◦ Ergonomically designed headrests
◦ Best in class hood visibility
◦ Driver oriented cockpit and multimedia display with physical buttons that provide the best accessibility amongst competitors
◦ A 160cc AC compressor delivering best in class cabin cooling performance
• NVH – Quieter in cabin well isolated from engine bay by using “CABIN_HUSH” insulation with multi – layer concept with well optimized EVA layer damping with acoustic barrier absorption. Renault Duster is also the 1st ever wind noise tuning in collaboration with IIT Kanpur NWTF facility.
• Segment best power and torque output – Specific choices and additions including a Delta Cylinder head and cylinders with PowerGlyd quoting allows us to achieve cleaner combustion, lower emissions and increased durability. All while delivering an exhilarating power output of 163ps and 280Nm torque.
• Safety – The Renault Duster is engineered for 5-star safety with reinforced structure, use of advanced high strength steel and fuel tank protection. The structural integrity is complemented by smart choices including best in segment 12 ultrasonic sensors, best in segment improved high beam and a person mode to control and personalize the ADAS functions.
• Google integrated – Along with the platform engineering, the vehicle’s electric architecture plays a pivotal role in shaping the driver’s experience. The RGMP platform supports the advanced SWEET400 electric architecture, enabling seamless integration of the in‑built Google Automotive System. This combination not only enhances connectivity and intelligence but also elevates the overall driving experience to a new benchmark
