Mercedes-Benz India has taken the significant step of discontinuing several entry-level and electric models, including the A-Class Limousine, EQA, EQB, and EQE SUV. The company has confirmed that all existing stocks of these vehicles have been sold out, which has led to their removal from the official website. This strategic move underscores the brand’s commitment to focusing on higher-end luxury models rather than volume sales, particularly in light of a 23 percent decline in the entry-level segment during 2025. By stepping back from price-sensitive categories with lower profit margins, Mercedes-Benz is positioning itself to leverage its strengths in the luxury market.

With the A-Class Limousine, once the brand’s most affordable option at around Rs 44.46 lakh, no longer available, the GLA SUV takes the lead as the entry-level model with a starting price of Rs 51.80 lakh. In the electric vehicle arena, both the EQA and EQB have been removed to make space for the upcoming CLA EV, set to make its debut on April 24, 2024. Although the ICE-powered GLB was also discontinued, there are plans for its return to the Indian market in a second-generation model as a full import, though the exact launch date remains to be announced.
