The Audi Q9 marks the expansion of the brand’s SUV lineup into its largest model size to date. Measuring 5.31 meters in length, 2.21 meters in width, and 1.81 meters in height, with a 3.14-meter wheelbase, the full-size vehicle features a standard seven-seat layout, with an optional six-seat business-class configuration. Structural exterior options include advanced and S line trims, with wheel sizes ranging from 20 to 23 inches. The interior incorporates premium upholstery choices such as alpaca wool blends, microfiber, and leather, alongside customizable trim options in wood and carbon fiber. Cargo functionality is supported by an integrated aluminum rail system with sliding hooks, as well as a roof rack.

Lighting systems on the Q9 integrate new technologies, including curved 3D digital OLED rear panels designed to widen the viewing angle and boost side visibility. Communication lights on the rear panel display safety warnings—such as hazard icons during breakdowns or exit warnings for approaching cyclists—while an optional feature projects turn signals directly onto the road surface alongside standard dynamic signals. Up front, digital Matrix LED headlights utilize micro-LED modules to support precise illumination, lane guidance, pedestrian marking, and hazard alerts.

The standard powertrain available at launch in Germany is a 3.0-liter V6 TDI engine producing 220 kW (299 PS) and 630 Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed tiptronic transmission and permanent quattro all-wheel drive. Selected European markets will also offer a 180 kW (245 PS) variant. The powertrain is supported by MHEV plus 48-volt mild-hybrid technology and an electric-powered compressor to enhance low-end torque and efficiency. Driving dynamics are managed via standard adaptive air suspension with an overall ride-height adjustment range of 90 millimeters, all-wheel steering capable of turning the rear wheels up to 5 degrees, and an integrated brake control system utilizing 400 mm front composite discs.

The cabin features a curved MMI panoramic OLED display setup consisting of a 12.3-inch virtual cockpit and a 14.5-inch touch screen, supplemented by a standard 12.3-inch passenger display equipped with a dynamic privacy filter. Operating on Android Automotive OS, the system supports third-party apps, voice interaction with integrated ChatGPT functionality, and an optional factory dashcam. Audio capabilities are delivered through an optional 22-speaker Bang & Olufsen 4D sound system rated at 1,360 watts, featuring headrest speakers and seat actuators for tactile bass feedback. Comfort functions include a standard 1.5-square-meter panoramic sunroof with optional switchable transparency and illumination, available automatic soft-close doors with obstacle sensors, and a suite of heating, ventilation, and massage options across the seating rows.

Driver assistance features encompass standard safety suites along with adaptive driving assistant plus, which provides partial automated hands-free driving at speeds up to 130 km/h (85 mph) on approved highways in Germany, the USA, and Canada. A column-mounted camera monitors driver attention, while integrated emergency assist systems can autonomously guide the vehicle to the road shoulder and bring it to a complete stop if the driver becomes unresponsive. Manufactured in Bratislava, the Q9 becomes available for order at the end of July 2026, with European deliveries starting in November 2026 at a base price of 108,400 euros for the 220 kW TDI model.
