Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has announced the rollout of a new connected-car security capability, the Hyundai Bluelink Remote Immobiliser. Introduced via a wireless update, the feature is designed to prevent unauthorized engine restarts and assist in vehicle recovery.
The Bluelink Remote Immobiliser operates through the Hyundai Bluelink mobile application, giving users control over vehicle startup capabilities in both preventative and reactive scenarios:
Proactive Immobilization: Owners can enable the immobiliser via the app while the vehicle is parked, blocking any unauthorized engine startup attempt, including key cloning scenarios.
Reactive Immobilization: In cases of suspected theft where the system was not pre-activated, owners can trigger the command directly through the app. Once the ignition is turned off, the system prevents the engine from restarting without requiring user contact with a central call center.
Safety Restraints: To ensure driver and road safety, the software architecture prevents the system from stopping or shutting off an engine while the vehicle is actively moving.
Location Tracking: When connected to a network, the system provides live location data to assist owners and law enforcement agencies in vehicle recovery.

The deployment utilizes Hyundai’s Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) framework via Controller Over-the-Air (C-OTA) technology. This architecture allows remote updates across up to 19 vehicle controllers without requiring a physical workshop visit.
Connected-car-Navigation-Cockpit (ccNC) equipped Hyundai VENUE (HX10 variant) and VENUE N Line (N10 variant).
Eligible HX10 and N10 variants sold since November 2025 will receive the feature via the C-OTA update.
Included as standard equipment on production ccNC-equipped VENUE HX10 and N Line N10 variants starting September 2026.
Phased rollout planned for select existing Bluelink-equipped vehicles (such as the IONIQ 5) and upcoming connected Hyundai models.
The Bluelink platform currently connects over 800,000 vehicles across HMIL’s domestic portfolio, offering coverage on 11 out of 15 models. Depending on the vehicle model and trim, the software suite integrates up to 70 connected functions, including emergency assistance, automated crash notifications, remote diagnostics, and AI-powered voice commands.
