Energy In Motion Ltd. (EIM Ltd) has inaugurated its heavy-duty battery swapping-cum-charging station at Rewari, Haryana, strengthening the energy infrastructure supporting the transition to electric freight along the NH-48, Delhi-Mumbai corridor.
The station was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Guest, Dr. Hanif Qureshi, IPS, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries, Government of India, in the presence of Guest of Honour Mr. Mahendra Singhi, Board Member and Advisor, Dalmia Cement & Member (Board of Governors) at NCCCBM & TERI, Industry Leaders Mr. Arun Kumar Khurana, Joint President and Head of Operations Logistics, UltraTech Cement; Mr. Manav Bansal, Co-Founder and CEO, Drivn; and Mr. Narendra Murkumbi, Managing Director, Energy In Motion Ltd. The event was attended by multi-stakeholders including Industry and corporate players, fleet owners, transporters, financiers and lenders, end-customers and other key participants.
The Rewari facility is part of EIM’s network of heavy-duty swapping-cum-charging stations along the strategic NH-48 corridor, together with facilities at Palwal and Kotputli. Each station has a connected load of 2.5 MW, positioning energy infrastructure closer to key routes supporting heavy freight movement.

EIM’s infrastructure-led approach is designed to support heavy electric vehicles to operate with greater energy availability and reduced dependence on long stationary charging periods. EIM’s battery-swapping model enables the depleted batteryto be exchanged for a charged battery, helping heavy-duty electric vehicles return to operations quickly. The development also supports the broader national direction towards expanding electric mobility and charging infrastructure, including for e-trucks andfreight applications.
Commenting on the inauguration, Mr. Narendra Murkumbi, Managing Director, EIM Ltd., said:
“The Rewari station is dedicated to support Green logistics more economically. The facility can swap a discharged battery of an Electric Heavy commercial vehicle (e-HCV) typically in 7 minutes, against 55-60 minutes of charging time througha conventional charger, there by yielding a significantly higher fleet availability and better economics for any fleet owner or transporter. The station has the capacity to serve over 150 vehicles a day. EIM’s Battery Swapping, together with its larger capacitybattery of 350 kWh, can result into a 10% increment in the No. of monthly return trips on any corridor for any Logistics Service Provider (LSP). We plan to set-up 40 such stations across India in the current FY, of which 8 are already operational and 7 more in various stages of installation. EIM, in its pursuit of creating value for its customers throughinnovative solutions, has already gained large traction across India through its ‘Maitryi’ model (Battery as a Service or BaaS) where a customer’s upfront capital deployment stands reduced by 40% while buying a heavy-duty electric truck, a capital-intensiveitem”
