Ultraviolette today introduced VX-100, its new 100V platform, and launched the X-47 Venom – the next generation of its X-47 Crossover motorcycle and the first motorcycle built on this platform. Together, they mark a significant step forward in Ultraviolette’s pursuit of high-performance electric mobility, combining intelligent engineering, lightweight construction and advanced safety technologies for riders who expect more from every kilometre.
The X-47 Venom is a next-generation electric motorcycle powered by the new VX-100
architecture and SRB-11 battery technology. Engineered to deliver higher speed, greater range,
faster charging, lighter subsystems and quicker acceleration, the X-47 Venom represents the
next evolution of the X-47 Crossover. The motorcycle also establishes a new benchmark in
electric two-wheeler charging, with the capability to support 12 kW DC fast charging.
X-47 Venom:
The Next Generation of Performance Electric Mobility
The X-47 Venom represents the next generation of the X-47 Crossover, combining enhanced
performance, improved energy utilisation, faster charging and advanced rider intelligence in a
single package.
With an IDC range of 343 km, peak power of 30 kW (40 hp), torque of 550Nm (at wheel) and a
top speed of 155 km/h, the X-47 Venom is engineered for riders seeking high performance
without compromising everyday usability. The motorcycle accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 5.9
seconds and has a kerb weight of 180 kg, making it up to 20 kg lighter than the previous
generation. The motorcycle also offers cruise control at the push of a button, for added
convenience during sustained highway riding. It also continues to feature UV Hypersense
(Radar Intelligence), reinforcing Ultraviolette’s focus on bringing next-generation rider
technology to the two-wheeler segment.
VX-100: A New Benchmark in Engineering
The X-47 Venom introduces Ultraviolette’s advanced 100V architecture, engineered to deliver
greater energy density, improved thermal performance and uncompromising safety. The
platform incorporates several advancements:
• SRB-11 battery technology: 100V battery configuration designed with up to 20%
greater energy density and 2X cooling performance.
• Advanced thermal management: An optimised thermal path designed to dissipate
heat up to 50% faster, helping maintain performance in demanding temperatures and
during sustained riding.
• Cast-aluminium battery housing: A structural enclosure designed to combine
strength, impact protection and reduced mass.
• IP67 protection: Dust-tight construction and protection against water immersion,
supported by shock, vibration and thermal resilience.
• Scalable energy architecture: A modular platform designed to support different
battery capacities, vehicle configurations and power levels across the Ultraviolette
portfolio.
The combination of higher energy density, improved cooling and lower mass is designed to
deliver stronger, steadier power while making more efficient use of the energy carried onboard.
Aerospace-inspired Battery Safety
The motorcycle introduces a first-in-class pyro-fuse for its battery pack, designed to isolate
the circuit in microseconds when a critical fault is detected. Designed in accordance with
functional safety principles primarily in electric cars and a systematic approach to managing
electrical and electronic risks, it functions in conjunction with a smart Battery Management
System (BMS) that continuously monitors the voltage, temperature and current of individual
cells. The Ultraviolette battery packs are also equipped with a cell level fuse for enhanced
safety. Together, these systems reflect Ultraviolette’s approach to bringing automotive-grade
safety discipline and aerospace-inspired engineering to electric two-wheelers.
UV LIGHTFURY Motor: Lighter and More Powerful
The X-47 Venom is powered by Ultraviolette’s 30kW electric motor, representing another
advancement in its in-house electric powertrain engineering. Developed to complement the
VX-100 architecture, UV LIGHTFURY Motor focuses on delivering higher power density,
reduced mass, reduced energy losses and improved energy efficiency.
With 550 Nm of wheel torque, the motorcycle delivers immediate acceleration from a
standstill, confident overtakes and effortless climbs on steep gradients. The UV LIGHTFURY
motor enables a more compact, lighter performance package that contributes to sharper
handling and greater usable range. The motor design also incorporates soft magnetic
composites (SMC).
The X-47 Venom features a next-generation motor control unit (MCU) engineered to be twice
as compact while delivering 3X power density. The controller is designed to provide sharper
power delivery and efficient energy management while reducing packaging weight and volume.
12kW DC Fast Charging: Intelligent Power Management
The X-47 Venom is India’s only electric two-wheeler capable of 12 kW DC fast charging,
bringing this charging capability to the electric motorcycle segment. The charging system
incorporates protective safeguards against overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, excessive
temperature and short circuits. These protection systems continuously monitor charging
conditions to help safeguard the battery and electrical system.
UV Hypersense Radar Intelligence
The X-47 Venom features a cutting-edge 77 GHz long range rear radar, capable of monitoring a
distance of up to 200 meters. Engineered specifically for two-wheeler dynamics, the radar
system intelligently adapts to lean angles of up to 20 degrees and seamlessly compensates for
variations in roll and pitch, ensuring optimal performance and situational awareness on the
move. Engineered to elevate rider awareness and safety, the system delivers its capabilities
through four core functions:
• Blind-spot monitoring: Actively scans the rider’s blind zones, detecting vehicles that
are fast approaching or overtaking in adjacent lanes, providing timely alerts to enhance
situational awareness and prevent potential collisions.
• Lane change assist: Proactively alerts the rider of any potential collision risks while
initiating a lane change, helping prevent unsafe manoeuvres and enhancing overall road
safety.
• Overtake alert: Monitors vehicles approaching in adjacent lanes from the rearintending
to overtake especially in blind spots, providing timely visual cues to the rider.
• Rear collision warning: Detects potential rear-end collision threats and instantly
communicates warnings to the rider through the integrated UV HyperSense mirrors.
Simultaneously, the system activates hazard lights to alert approaching vehicles,
enhancing safety in critical moments.
B-MAX: Extending Safety Beyond the Motorcycle
Alongside the VX-100 architecture, X-47 Venom and UV LIGHTFURY motor, Ultraviolette is
introducing B-MAX, a new reusable safety vest for riders. B-MAX represents the company’s
focus on extending its safety philosophy beyond the vehicle to the rider. It broadens the
company’s approach to integrated mobility safety, complementing the electrical protection,
radar intelligence and rider assistance technologies developed for its products.
The B-MAX has been introduced to elevate rider safety with 2X CE safety standards and 86%
force attenuation. Designed for comprehensive protection, it safeguards critical areas including
the collar, back, chest, sides, and hips, giving riders enhanced protection and greater
confidence on every ride.
