Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri-Nhava Sheva Atal Setu, also known as Mumbai Trans Harbor Link (MTHL), has been opened to the public. The sea bridge was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 12 January 2024.

Atal Setu will connect Sewri and Nhava Sheva, reducing the distance and time required to travel from Mumbai to Navi Mumbai. There will also be a major link between the Navi Mumbai International Airport and the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT). Within a few kilometer lies CBD Belapur, Khargar, Panvel and a connection to Pune Expressway as well. A direction connection to the expressway will come within a year to this bridge.

A Worli-Sewri connector will come by later this year. The connector will start from a stone throw away from the Bandra Worli sea link. Something that will also connect to the south side of the Coastal road which will help you reach Northern side of the coastal road in the future once the Bandra -Versova – Vasai bridge will be ready.

Atal Setu is a 16.5 km sea bridge, making it the longest sea bridge in India. The bridge is a new open cash collection system that uses cameras and scanners, eliminating the need for tolls. The fare has been fixed at Rs 250 for one way and Rs 375 for return and 650 for a whole day pass for cars. Motorcycles and other slow moving traffic is not allowed.
