Triumph Motorcycles, with over 120 years of motorcycling heritage, today announced a price drop on its flagship Speed 400 and Speed T4 models, even as the GST on motorcycles above 350cc has risen sharply to 40%. Contrary to industry expectations of price hikes, Triumph and Bajaj Auto Ltd. have chosen to absorb the increased burden, thereby adding to the festive celebrations of customers in India.
The Speed 400 is now available at ₹2,33,754 (down from ₹2,50,551), while the Speed T4 is available at ₹1,92,539 (down from ₹2,06,738).
The Speed range has been the fastest-growing line in Triumph’s India portfolio, with monthly volumes nearly doubling since FY23–24. This momentum underscores the strong traction that the brand enjoys, built on customer trust and growing preference for Triumph motorcycles. Building on this success, Triumph aims to sustain its leadership in the mid-size motorcycle segment and continue expanding its reach among Indian riders.
Speaking on the announcement, Manik Nangia, President, Probiking, Bajaj Auto Ltd., said: “The Speed 400 and Speed T4 have set benchmarks in performance, design, and accessibility. By absorbing the impact and introducing a price slash, Triumph and Bajaj Auto are reaffirming their focus on the Indian market and its customers, ensuring the Speed range continues to deliver unmatched value. We have also seen monthly volumes nearly double since FY23–24, with a strong surge in demand before the GST revision, which is a clear reflection of the trust and aspiration customers associate with Triumph. We are confident of sustaining this momentum going forward.”
This decision underscores Triumph’s long-term vision of ushering in a new class of premium motorcycles in India that combine iconic design and modern engineering.
