BS6 Aprilia Storm 125 is the entry-level offering from the Italian two-wheeler brand in India, and the manufacturer has now announced a new variant with more equipment on offer. The BS6 compliant version of the Aprilia Storm 125 now comes a front disc brake and a semi-digital instrument console in a bid to make it the model more desirable. The 2020 Storm 125 is also pricier with the set of upgrades and now costs Rs. 91,321 (ex-showroom, Pune). The Storm shares its underpinnings with the SR 125, but gets considerable changes to make it cheaper by a few thousand over the SR.

Compared to the BS4 drum brake version, the BS6 Aprilia Storm 125 front disc brake model is about Rs. 23,000 more expensive. For the extra hike, you now get an updated BS6 compliant 124.45 cc single-cylinder, a three-valve engine with fuel injection that develops 9.5PS and 9.9Nm of peak torque. The motor continues to be paired with a CVT automatic unit. The scooter retains the 12-inch black alloy wheels with wide cross pattern tyres, while the telescopic forks at the front and a single-shock absorber at the rear have been carried over as well. The braking set-up comes from the 220 mm front disc with a two-pot caliper, while the rear gets a 130 mm drum brake unit. Aprilia has also equipped the model with Combined Braking System (CBS) as standard.

Visually, the 2020 BS6 Aprilia Storm 125 is identical to the older model and gets the dual headlights, black plastics and a fibre-glass body shell. The scooter is offered in two colours options – yellow and red. There are bold new graphics that help identify the Storm from the SR 125 and the SR 160 scooters. The headlamp remains a halogen unit as well, even as most rivals in this segment now offer an LED set-up. The Storm 125 is one of the most expensive offerings in this segment and takes on the TVS NTorq 125.

Bookings for the Aprilia Storm 125 front disc variant is currently open for a token amount of Rs. 1000, and can be made online or at the company’s dealerships. Those booking the scooter online are eligible to receive benefits up to Rs. 2000 from the company. The online booking option also allows you to select the preferred dealership of your choice to take delivery of the scooter.
