French carmaker Citroen is getting to Launch the C3 hatchback in the Indian market very soon. The unveiling is done and the launch is now set for July 20. The bookings open from July 1’st. However, some dealers are already taking bookings. This will be the second car from the house of Citroen after it launched a more expensive and posher C5 Aircross for Indian buyers.
The inspiration for the outer design of the C3 can be traced to SUV lineage as the grille and split headlamps give the hint of C5 Aircross. Body cladding adds to the rugged appeal of the car and sophisticated tail lamps make sure that the design is rounded off in a decent manner. In addition, prospective buyers will have a choice to choose from different colors and you can order the car by mixing and matching the different shades of your choice.
Inside the cabin, the scheme of things is rather straightforward and Citroen has done well by going for the simple and uncluttered layout. There are plenty of storage and storage spaces as per the company and it will be interesting to witness that the list of equipment on the car is rather long. There will be a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering-mounted audio controls, and a manual air conditioning system. For the safety aspects, the car will boast dual airbags, rear parking sensors, and ABS with EBD among others. Dimensions of the C3 are 3,981mm long, 1,733mm wide and 1,586mm high and has a wheelbase of 2,540mm.
The engines are two 1.2-litre units one of them is a turbo and the other is a naturally aspirated petrol engine. 82 PS for the N/A engine and 110 PS for the Turbo motor. Both cars deliver 19 km/l. There won’t be a diesel engine on offer. In terms of transmission, both manual and automatic options will be on the offer. The launch is set to happen with manual only. The pricing for the new C3 hatchback is likely to start from Rs 5.5/6.5 lakh and on its arrival, it will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift, Tata Punch, Maruti Ignis and Mahindra KUv 100 among others.
