The Hero XPulse 450 is a ground-up adventure motorcycle that stands as the most powerful production model in Hero MotoCorp’s portfolio. Developed with direct engineering inputs and insights gained from the Hero MotoSports Team Rally, the motorcycle is engineered to offer robust performance across both urban commuting and demanding off-road terrain. Designed to meet standards for both Indian and global markets, the XPulse 450 expands the brand’s established dual-purpose lineup, joining existing models such as the XPulse 200, XPulse 210 Dakar Edition, and XPulse 210 MX.
At the core of the XPulse 450 is a 421 cc, liquid-cooled, 4-valve, double overhead camshaft (DOHC) engine. This powertrain delivers a maximum output of 34.3 kW at 9,100 rpm and peak torque of 38 Nm at 7,500 rpm. Power is managed via a 6-speed transmission equipped with an Assist and Slipper clutch, which helps reduce lever effort and prevents rear-wheel hop during aggressive downshifts.
To handle varied riding conditions, the motorcycle features a high-specification chassis and suspension setup. Up front, it is equipped with 43 mm KYB inverted (USD) cartridge-type forks offering 225 mm of wheel travel. The front suspension is fully adjustable, incorporating 22-step compression and rebound damping adjustments to fine-tune impact absorption and high-speed control over rough surfaces. The overall suspension architecture is calibrated to balance everyday on-road stability with structural durability for technical off-road trails.
In addition to its mechanical components, the XPulse 450 incorporates modern cockpit technology, featuring category-first integration of both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This allows riders to mirror smartphone functions directly onto the instrument cluster for turn-by-turn navigation, communication, and telemetry management while riding. Combining rally-derived mechanicals with contemporary connectivity, the XPulse 450 serves as Hero MotoCorp’s flagship adventure tourer for worldwide markets.
