Hero MotoCorp is reportedly working on a larger capacity Xtreme R motorcycle, which will be a rival to the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, Honda Hornet 2.0, Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and the like in the segment. The latest test mules also add weightage to the claim with the motorcycle dubbed as the Hero Xtreme 200R 4V. The test mule spied shows the Xtreme 200R with USD front forks and a four-valve head.

Although there’s confirmation of the motorcycle getting the 200 cc mill, reports indicate that this will be more of a larger version of the Hero Xtreme 160R. It’s likely that Hero will retain the same chassis but plonk a bigger engine and more sophisticated hardware to make the motorcycle more capable of taking on the competition. Other features expected include LED lighting, a negative-LCD digital console, a horizontally-mounted air/oil cooler and more.

Hero Xtreme 200R 4V Spied

While the proposition of a 200 cc Xtreme seems enticing, we reckon Hero could also experiment with its new 210 cc motor that it’s developing for the upcoming Karizma XMR. The leaked details have promised a newly-developed engine and it would make sense to explore that motor in streetfighter and full-faired body-styles. While the Karizma could be the full-faired model, the Xtreme 210R 4V could get the same engine with USD front forks.

That said, there’s no confirmation on either displacement and we will have to wait and see how Hero intends to position its new premium motorcycle range. The bike could also come with dual-channel ABS for better value instead of single-channel ABS. Expect prices to be between Rs 1.4 – 1.5 lakh (ex-showroom), when the upcoming motorcycle hits the market. That said, we expect the new offering to arrive sometime in 2024.
