Husqvarna has big plans for the Indian market. The premium bike maker will lure Indian buyers with its upcoming new offerings – Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250. Both of these bikes will go on sale in India in February next year. The company is quite confident that these two new bikes (based on KTM 250 Duke) will strike a chord with biking enthusiasts. What makes things even more interesting is the possible launch of the third bike – Husqvarna Svartpilen 200. This model has been part of the global website of Husqvarna (the website is updated recently) which essentially signals that the bike will become part of the company’s portfolio in the time to come.

Husqvarna Svartpilen 200 , just like Svartpilen 250, is based on the KTM model. The bike is powered by the KTM’s 200cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine capable of putting out 26bhp of max power. The motor uses a double overhead cam (DOHC) arrangement for delivering better performance and fuel efficiency and comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Other mechanical hardware such as the braking system and suspension system has also been sourced from the KTM. Svartpilen 200 and Svartpilen 250 use the same alloy wheels, LED lighting, and body panels. However, the difference arises in terms of exhaust as Svartpilen 250 features side exhaust while Svartpilen 200 uses the underslung one.

In all probability, Husqvarna Svartpilen 200 would be launched in the Indian market as a more affordable version of Svartpilen 250 – just like that KTM launched 200 Duke as a more economical form of 250 Duke. The pricing is going to be the most interesting bit and it is a matter of great curiosity to witness how the Husqvarna will price Svartpilen 200. We guesstimate that Svartpilen 200 will be costlier than 200 Duke by at least Rs 10-15k.
