Jeep India sales are declining due to premium price of their vehicles. Jeep India maintains its stance that they are premium brand in India and compete with other luxury car manufacturers in the country. The Compass is not on par with the Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV 700 or MG Hector. It ends up going the likes of the Volkswagen Tiguan and Citroen C5 Aircross. The company is now strengthening its portfolio in India by adding safety features and technologies such as ADAS.

Jeep Meridian has seen many limited edition variants till date and no we think that the ADAS 2024 test variant will come next. The test mule carries temporary Maharashtra number plates. Bosch is based in the state of Karnataka and hence the vehicle is sent here for testing initially before we think it goes nationwide for testing. The sticker also has a camera and microphone icon indicating ADAS. If you look closely, you can see two radars and some cameras on the bottom of the bumper. ORVM There was also a blind spot monitoring feature.

For starters, the MY2024 Jeep Compass and its MY2024 three-row Jeep Meridian will be equipped with a variety of new safety technologies not available on the current model. We’re talking about Jeep’s own ADAS. You’ll notice a few features added here to improve the look of the Compass and Meridian. Jeep is rumored to be testing a 1.3L GSE T4 turbo petrol engine that will be brought in late 2025 to cater demand of petrol SUV’s picking up in India.

This engine produces a maximum power of 150 horsepower and a maximum torque of 250 Nm. However, Jeep’s 4X4 system may not be paired with the new turbo gasoline engine. Another powertrain is the 2.0-litre turbo diesel that powers the Tata Harrier and Safari and the MG Hector and Hector Plus. The engine offers 170 hp of power and 350 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed torque converter. It is not yet known if the 2024 Jeep Meridian and 2024 Compass will see design changes. The price will go higher by Rs 1/1.5 lakh for ADAS equipped variant for Compass and Meridian.
