JSW MG and the newly formed JSW Motors have ambitious plans. Under the existing JSW MG joint venture, the company is preparing to launch an all-new 7-seater plug-in hybrid SUV, potentially named the Starlite, which is larger than the MG Hector and features full EV capabilities. They are also expanding their premium MG Select brand with the IM6, a new SUV expected to be priced under 60 lakhs. To future-proof their lineup and replace older models, JSW MG is developing a new multi-fuel architecture called Sigma, which will support internal combustion, hybrid, and pure electric vehicles for the B and B+ segments.
Meanwhile, the standalone subsidiary, JSW Motors, is leveraging a partnership with Chinese automaker Chery to introduce its own distinct lineup, targeting the 20 to 40 lakh price bracket. Their flagship launch will be the Jetour T2, a powerful 370-horsepower premium plug-in hybrid SUV often likened to a “Chinese Defender” due to its dominant road presence. Following this, JSW Motors plans to introduce the iCAR V23, an electric off-roader stylized similarly to the Jimny, and the Jaecoo J5, an SUV aimed directly at competing in the mid-size segment against the Hyundai Creta and other cars in this segment.
