Suzuki Motor Corporation’s Chief Advisor and former Chairman, Osamu Suzuki, has passed away. He was 94 years old. According to a statement by Suzuki Motor Corporation President and CEO Toshihiro Suzuki, Osamu had been suffering from malignant lymphoma and passed away on December 25th. Osamu Suzuki led the Japanese automobile major from 1978 to 2021, stepping down at the age of 91. He was also a director and Honorary Chairman of Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL).
MSIL said in an official statement: Suzuki was a visionary leader whose remarkable contributions have shaped the global automobile industry. “In India, his vision and leadership were instrumental in the establishment of Maruti Udyog Limited in 1981. Mr. O. Suzuki, with his vision, played a pivotal role in realising the dream of powering India by providing affordable, reliable, efficient and quality vehicles to millions of Indian families. “Under his leadership, the Indian automobile industry has taken over. “Japanese manufacturing and labour practices are recognised globally for teamwork, productivity and cost efficiency.
