Mahindra seems to be coming back to the two-wheeler space and it could be all-electric. What we saw earlier were Peugoet two-wheeler units that were being tested along with competition such as the Ather. This here is a clear indication of the very first two-wheeler from Mahindra Two wheeler stable as the Gusto takes shape to become the electric scooter. This makes it a legitimate option of Mahindra’s come back in the game. The Gusto was proven to be an innovative and good-to-ride scooter with a good engine as well. Gusto had a short shelf life but if it comes back as an electric, it can do wonders for the brand. The Gusto did turn out to be a scooter which had probably, the world’s first adjustable seat height scooter along with many other features on offer back in the early 2010s. If it can do that again, with an electric powertrain that is fast, fun and has a range of around 100 km or more, it can bring Mahindra Two Wheelers back into the limelight.
Specs could be around what Bajaj and TVS offer or even the startups such as Ola and Ather. There could be multiple variants where different travelling range and performance scooters could be offered. The same boxy design is visible in these photos and with new-age design and technology elements along with new colours could breathe life in something that was loved for what it was but couldn’t reach enough homes. Already, we can see an electric powertrain on it in these spy shots. Could it come with the same name? We think not! However, with the same concept of innovation and feature list along with action packaged ride and handling package, we think it will get a hearty welcome into the Indian market.
