Citroen has showcased the new C3 Aircross SUV with an automatic transmission at the Indonesia International Auto Show 2023. This is a 6-speed torque converter that Citroen India is expected to bring at a later date to the market. The Citroen C3 Aircross is set to go on sale in India in September this year.
India is the global production hub for the Citroen C3 Aircross and the Indonesian model showcased is Made-in-India as well. The model appears identical to the Indian version and also draws power from the same 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine tuned for 110PS, while peak torque has gone up to 205Nm, 15Nm more than the India-spec model. Citroen Indonesia claims a fuel efficiency of 17.5 kmpl, as against 18.5 kmpl on the manual.
On the inside, the C3 Aircross automatic gets the conventional set-up with a gearshift lever but no paddle shifters. There is a possibility of the India-spec model getting the toggle selector like the E-C3 and C5 Aircross but we’ll have to wait for the launch of the same.
The 6-speed automatic transmission is also expected to make its way to the C3 hatchback and we expect both the versions to arrive by the end of this year. The C3 Aircross is offered in a single variant with five or seven-seater options and the addition of an automatic will help customers find more comfortability with the SUV. Prices should be in the vicinity of the Rs. 9-15 lakh (ex-showroom) for the new C3 Aircross.
