A camouflaged prototype of Mahindra’s upcoming sub-4-metre SUV, based on the Vision S concept introduced in August 2025, has been spotted undergoing high-altitude testing in Kaza, Spiti Valley. Positioned above the XUV 3XO in the company’s lineup, the vehicle is built on Mahindra’s Nu_IQ platform, which is designed to accommodate petrol, diesel, hybrid, and fully electric powertrains. The production-spec model is expected to make its debut around 2027.
The exterior design retains several proportions from the concept model, including a boxy silhouette, short overhangs, and an upright stance. At the front, the prototype features a six-slat grille flanked by L-shaped LED headlights, a clamshell bonnet, and a lower air dam housing a central module likely intended for an ADAS radar system. Additional exterior elements include pronounced wheel arches, flush door handles, a panoramic sunroof, a flat roofline, chunky side cladding, and a fuel filler cap located above the left-rear wheel arch. At the rear, the vehicle sports vertically oriented LED tail lamps, a side-hinged tailgate with a mounted spare wheel, a roof spoiler with an integrated stop lamp, a shark-fin antenna, and a flush bumper.
While the cabin details remain mostly covered, test sightings indicate an upright dashboard layout. The interior is expected to feature an integrated infotainment display, curved air vents, physical switchgear, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
