The new Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ Coupe is the perfect basis, which the engineers and designers of BRABUS turn into a high-performance SUV coupe in a class of its own.

The BRABUS 800 SUV Coupe is powered by a twin-turbo, eight-cylinder engine that produces 588 kW / 800 hp (789 bhp) and a peak torque of 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft). As a result, the supercar rockets from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.4 seconds and on to an electronically limited top speed of 280 km/h (174 mph).

Exposed-carbon aerodynamic-enhancement components with sporty and elegant styling in concert with tailor-made BRABUS wheels including king-sized 24 inches in diameter give the all-wheel fastback a particularly exclusive appearance.

BRABUS fine leather appointments in any desired color and in many different designs are available to customize the interior.

The twin-turbo, four-liter V8 of the current Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ Coupe puts out 450 kW / 612 hp (603 bhp) ex-factory and is thus the perfect starting point for a BRABUS supercar in a class of its own. The powerplant engineers and technicians of the world’s largest independent automotive refinement specialist brought their expertise from more than four decades of tuning to bear to develop a performance upgrade that unleashes an extra 138 kW / 188 hp (185 bhp) and bumps peak torque by 150 Nm (111 lb-ft). It goes without saying that the BRABUS tuning harmonizes perfectly with the integrated mild-hybrid starter generator of the GLE 63 S.

In order to achieve a peak output of 588 kW / 800 hp (789 bhp) at 5,900 rpm and a peak torque of 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft) at a low 3,500 rpm, special turbos with larger compressor unit, modified core assembly and reinforced axial bearings replace the two production turbos. They produce a maximum boost pressure of 1.6 bar.

Likewise part of this transformation is the plug-and-play BRABUS PowerXtra auxiliary control unit, which is adapted to the engine electronics of the GLE 63 S. It provides the engine with new mapping for injection, boost pressure control and ignition. This ensures maximum power delivery for one, and exemplary emissions and flawless durability for another. BRABUS vouches for this with the model three-year or 100,000 km (62,000 miles) BRABUS Tuning Warranty (see BRABUS Warranty Terms and Conditions, updated July 2013). BRABUS recommends high-performance lubricants from MOTUL.

As a result, the BRABUS 800 SUV Coupe delivers outstanding performance: The all-wheel drive car tipping the scales at more than 2.3 metric tons accelerates in just 3.4 seconds to 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standing start. The top speed is electronically limited to 280 km/h (174 mph).

The BRABUS PowerXtra B40 – 700 performance upgrade is alternatively available for all GLE 63 models. It bumps the output of the turbocharged V8 by 64.7 kW / 88 hp (87 bhp).

The optionally available BRABUS Memory System can permanently deactivate the standard automatic start-stop system of the GLE 63 if desired and reactivate it at the touch of a button. The available BRABUS Boost Xtra gives the twin-turbo, eight-cylinder also a very special acoustic touch. Two special adapters for the bypass valves ensure that the characteristic blow-off noise of the turbos is clearly audible when the driver lifts off the gas.

As an ideal complement to the engine tuning, it makes sense to install the BRABUS stainless high-performance exhaust system with actively controlled exhaust flaps and four BRABUS titanium/carbon tailpipes with a diameter of 90 millimeters (3.5 in). This system has active sound management to choose between a powerful V8 sound in ‘Sport’ mode and a subtle whisper in ‘Comfort’ mode.

BRABUS of course gives the fastback GLE 63 also a special sporty appearance. To this end, the designers of the refinement specialist developed tailor-made aerodynamic-enhancement components. All components sport an exposed-carbon finish with a choice of high-gloss or matt sealer. The BRABUS front spoiler attaches to the lower part of the fascia and features raised ends similar to flaps. In concert with the BRABUS front mesh, it gives the coupe an even more distinctive face. What is more: Its sophisticated shape minimizes front-axle lift at high speeds, further optimizing the handling stability.

Tailor-made air deflectors for the side air intakes in the front bumper add sporty visual highlights. The front looks even more dynamic with the BRABUS air intakes integrated into the radiator grille on the left and right. The intake on the driver’s side features a crosspiece with BRABUS logo, whose lights are activated by pulling a door handle or when the driver approaches the supercar while carrying the key card.

The BRABUS diffuser insert enhances the rear end. It blends precisely into the rear bumper and features tailor-made cutouts on the left and right for the tailpipes of the BRABUS sport exhaust system. The carbon trim for the side air outlets in the rear fascia add further sporty touches. The three-piece BRABUS rear spoiler in tandem with the BRABUS exposed-carbon wheel arch extensions rounds off the thrilling design. They replace the production components at the front and rear axle.

Of course, BRABUS also offers BRABUS Monoblock alloys in different designs and with diameters from 22 to 24 inches for the GLE 63 Coupe. The supercar pictured here is equipped with BRABUS Monoblock Y “BLACK PLATINUM” hi-tech forged wheels in a combination of 10Jx23 at the front and 12Jx23 on the rear axle. Thanks to state-of-the-art manufacturing technology, this wheel design with spokes that spread out towards the outer edge in the shape of a ‘Y’ offers an outstanding combination of lightweight construction and maximum strength. High-performance tires from technology partners Continental, Pirelli or YOKOHAMA in sizes 295/35 R 23 and 335/30 R 23 make perfect use of the available space under the wheel arches.

A special BRABUS control module for the AIRMATIC air suspension lowers the ride height of the high-performance SUV coupe by about 25 millimeters (1 in). This gives the all-wheel-drive car more thrilling looks and further improves the driving dynamics as the result of the lower center of gravity.

BRABUS enjoys world renown in the area of interior design as well. The company upholstery shop creates exclusive BRABUS fine leather appointments for the BRABUS 800 SUV Coupe by request, tailored to the customer’s personal preferences. They process especially soft and breathable leather as well as Alcantara in any desired color meticulously by hand. The selection of upholstery designs with precise quilting and perforations is just as extensive. The precious-wood and carbon BRABUS interior sets also offer maximum individuality in terms of colors and surface finishes.

A broad range of sporty accessories for the cockpit rounds off the portfolio. The range spans from aluminum door lock pins, pedals and BRABUS RACE paddle shifters on the steering wheel to stainless scuff plates with backlit BRABUS logo, which changes color in sync with the ambient lighting of the interior.

The BRABUS 800 SUV Coupe can be ordered as a complete car. Alternatively, any GLE 63 S can be converted to this specification all at once or in stages.

Fuel economy, CO2 emissions and efficiency class:
