Mercedes-Benz EQB 350 4MATIC Launched In India at Rs 77.5 Lakh, Replaces EQB 300

Just months after introducing the Mercedes-Benz EQB electric SUV in India, the German luxury automaker has launched the EQB 350 4MATIC variant priced at Rs 77.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The new EQB 350 4MATIC replaces the EQB 300 4MATIC that was available at the time of launch. The latter arrived at a price point of Rs 74.50 lakh (ex-showroom). While the EQB 350 is more expensive, it also packs more performance than the model it replaces.

The Mercedes-Benz EQB 350 gets the same 66.5 kWh battery pack as the older 300 but performance has been improved on the new variant. The electric SUV is powered by two electric motors, one on each axle. It now packs 290PS as against the earlier 228PS, while peak torque has gone up to 520Nm from the previous 390Nm. 0-100 kmph comes up in 6.2 seconds on the EQB 350, while the top speed is restricted to 160 kmph.

There are no major visual changes on the EQB 350 barring the badging at the rear and a few subtle details. That said, a key visual distinction is the fresh set of 18-inch light alloy wheels that improve the aerodynamic efficiency of the electric SUV. The EQB 350 continues to get the black panel grille and LED headlights with adaptive high-beam assist. The rear sports LED taillights with backlit turn indicators.

On the feature front, the EQB 350 continues to get two 10.25-inch screens for the digital console and infotainment system. The unit uses the latest MBUX system with a host of features and personalisation options. Other features include ambient lighting, electrically adjustable front seats, wireless charging, multi-zone climate control, cruise control and more.

The new EQB 350 has an identical charging time as the 300 due to the same size of the battery. It can be charged from 10-80 per cent in just 32 minutes with a 100 kW DC fast charger. However, a more standard 11 kW wall charger would take a little over six hours. Mercedes claims a driving range of 423 km (WLTP cycle) on the EQB 350, which remains the same as the 300.
