Mercedes-Benz today, announced a historic double milestone, recording both its highest-ever quarterly sales (Q3 2026) and best-ever January-September sales performance in India. Mercedes-Benz delivered 15,190 new vehicles to customers during January September 2026, registering an ~8% growth over 14,132 units sold in the corresponding period last year,
making it the strongest nine-month sales performance in the company’s history in India.
The company also achieved its best-ever quarterly sales performance, retailing 5,422 vehicles between July and
September 2026, an increase of 6% compared to 5,119 units retailed in Q3 2025. Mercedes-Benz also
registered a 17% quarter on quarter (Q2 to Q3 26) sales growth, owing to ongoing festive demand and the
success of Mercedes-Benz ‘Dream Days Campaign’ which introduced innovative financial products for
aspiring customers.
Mercedes-Benz’s record sales performance was driven by sustained demand across the Top-End Luxury,
Core Luxury and Entry Luxury segments, supported by compelling product interventions, a strategically
upgraded luxury retail network, and differentiated customer experience. The strong momentum highlights
the growing desirability of Mercedes-Benz brand among Indian luxury customers and reflects the
company’s focus on value-led growth, customer centricity and quality of business and sales.
Demand for Mercedes-Benz’s Top-End Luxury portfolio remained exceptionally strong during January-September 2026, accounting for more than 25% of sales penetration and registering +13% year-on-year
growth. Flagship models including the GLS, S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach and AMG G 63 continued to
witness strong customer traction, underscoring the growing preference for exclusive, highly personalized
luxury experiences among discerning Indian customers.
The extra-LWB V-Class has emerged as a preferred vehicle of choice for customers taking long intercity travels and also for airport travels.
Reflecting this trend, Mercedes-Benz’s bespoke MANUFAKTUR programme, which offers an elevated
level of personalization through meticulously curated materials, distinctive design elements and
exceptional craftsmanship, accounted for ~ 75% of all Top-End Luxury vehicle sales in India. The AMG G
63 further reinforced its iconic status by recording its highest-ever monthly sales, despite maintaining a
long waiting period, highlighting the enduring desirability and exclusivity of the model.
Sustained demand buoying ‘Core’ segment: Robust demand for Mercedes-Benz’s LWB portfolio
The ‘Core Luxury’ segment remained the cornerstone of Mercedes-Benz India’s growth trajectory,
contributing ~60% of total sales during January-September 2026. Strong and sustained demand for the
C-Class, Long Wheelbase E-Class, GLC and GLE drove the segment performance, with all four models
achieving strong monthly sales in each quarter of 2026.
The Long Wheelbase E-Class continued its dominant run as the highest-selling luxury car in India, while
the success of the C-Class, GLC and GLE reaffirmed the enduring appeal of Mercedes-Benz’s core
product portfolio, driving customer loyalty. As the largest contributor to overall sales, the Core Luxury
segment remains a key driver of the brand’s value-led growth in India.
Entry Luxury: Strong product substance and value of GLA and CLA BEV grows the segment
Mercedes-Benz ‘Entry Luxury’ portfolio comprising the GLA SUV and the CLA BEV continued to offer
high product substance, driving substantial value proposition for luxury customers. Mercedes-Benz
Entry Luxury products are feature loaded underpinning a ‘value-oriented’ sales approach that
successfully caters to the growing aspirations of young customers.
In Jan-Sep 2026, Mercedes-Benz ‘Entry Luxury Segment’ maintained steady growth of 4% comprising
~15% of total sales mix, driven by high product substance of GLA and the CLA BEV.
