After getting a tremendous response from the Indian buyers for its Hector and ZS EV, MG Motor is looking to keep the momentum going with its new MPV offering. The MPV was snapped on its way to the upcoming Auto Expo and this development comes close on the heels of the introduction of Kia Carnival in the Indian market. Just so you know, Kia will announce the prices of its premium carnival MPV at the 2020 Auto Expo.

This new MG MPV sells in the Chinese and Southeast Asian markets as Maxus G10 and is available in seven, nine, and ten-seat configurations. It is interesting to note that MG is bringing a slew of models to Auto Expo in order to gauge the response of the Indian buyers. This will help the company to decide which model to launch in the market. G10 is among the key models that have a high probability of getting the Indian market launch.

MG is specifically looking to position the G10 exactly between Toyota Innova Crysta and Maruti Ertiga. This essentially means G10 will try to balance both value and premium dimensions and could potentially emerge as a good option for price-sensitive and quality-conscious consumers. That said, MG is still to take an official call on whether to launch the vehicle in India or not although in all probability G10 is expected to make its way to Indian shores.

In the Chinese Market, G10 is available with a 2.0-liter turbocharged motor capable of putting out 223 bhp and 345 Nm of max power and max torque respectively. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission. You can also have the car with a 2.4-liter diesel engine and a 1.9-liter turbocharged diesel engine with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission respectively. Along with G10, MG will also showcase its Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour’s rival D10 SUV at the auto expo.
