India Kawasaki Motors has announced the introduction of three new MY27 motorcycle models tailored for off-road and dual-sport use: the KLX230, the KLX230 S, and the KLX230R S. All three variants are powered by a proven 233cc, fuel-injected, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine paired with a six-speed return transmission. This engine configuration is engineered to produce smooth, predictable power with strong low-to-mid-range torque.
The standard road-legal MY27 KLX230 is priced starting at ₹2,19,000 (ex-showroom) with deliveries scheduled to begin in mid-September 2026. It features a high-tensile steel perimeter frame, a curb weight of 139 kg, and long-travel suspension consisting of a 37mm telescopic front fork (220mm travel) and a New Uni-Trak rear setup (223mm travel). Designed for dual-purpose use, it is equipped with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels, dual-purpose tires, 255 mm of ground clearance, and an approachable seat height of 880 mm. It also incorporates single-channel ABS (switchable on the front wheel) and a fully digital instrument cluster. Aesthetically, it draws from Kawasaki’s KX motocross lineage with aggressive styling, slim bodywork, and an LED headlight.
The MY27 KLX230 S is also priced starting at ₹2,19,000 (ex-showroom), with deliveries starting in mid-September 2026. It shares the core 233cc engine and general capabilities of the standard model but is developed specifically with a reduced seat height of 830 mm and revised suspension settings (160mm front wheel travel, 163mm rear wheel travel) to improve accessibility and ground reach for a wider range of riders. It retains the 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels, KX-inspired bodywork, fuel injection, digital instrumentation, an LED headlight, and switchable ABS.
Meanwhile, the purpose-built, non-road-legal MY27 KLX230R S is introduced at an introductory price of ₹1,89,000 (ex-showroom), with deliveries beginning in mid-August 2026. Engineered strictly for trails, motocross tracks, and off-road training, it produces 19.0 PS of power at 7,800 rpm and 19.1 N·m of torque at 6,200 rpm. It features a lighter curb weight of 129 kg, a 900 mm seat height, and suspension travel measuring 220mm in the front and 223mm in the rear. It omits street-legal equipment like lighting and instruments in favor of a pure flat seat profile and minimalist number plate styling derived from the KX lineup.

All three models can be booked via dealerships for an amount of ₹5,500, with online E-shop booking options opening soon. Additionally, accessories such as frame covers, skid plates, black rims, and a rear carrier are available across the lineup.
