Exciting new images have emerged, giving us a sneak peek at the upcoming BMW X5 and the refreshed 7 Series limousine, just in time for the launch of the all-new i3. These latest designs mark a bold shift in BMW’s styling approach, aligning with their “Neue Klasse” vision.
The redesigned BMW X5 boasts a sleek new exterior, featuring a slimmer kidney grille paired with a contemporary LED light signature. While it retains its robust stance through flared wheel arches and a substantial rear, the back end has been significantly updated with slim, wraparound LED tail lights and an eye-catching dual-tone bumper. The leaked version we’re seeing is the M60e xDrive—an innovative plug-in hybrid that merges a 3.0-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder engine with an electric motor, generating around 570 horsepower. In addition to this hybrid option, buyers can expect traditional petrol and diesel variants, along with a fully electric model dubbed the iX5.
Meanwhile, the BMW 7 Series, along with its electric sibling, the i7, is undergoing a significant mid-cycle refresh set to debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April. This update features a more aggressive, illuminated kidney grille that remains impressively large, complemented by a new split headlamp design. The dual LED daytime running lights now sit above the primary headlamp units located in the front bumper. Beyond just the aesthetics, the 7 Series will also include internal combustion engines that meet the latest Euro 7 emissions regulations, while the i7 will enjoy the same visual updates.
These enhancements reflect BMW’s strategic move to modernize its key models with cutting-edge hybrid and electric powertrains. As the X5 continues to offer a variety of traditional and electrified choices, the refreshed 7 Series aims to uphold its flagship status with a striking front-end design and a commitment to meet stringent global environmental standards.
