Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL), the two-wheeler subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, today introduced the 2025 Suzuki GSX-8R, now compliant with OBD-2B (On-Board Diagnostics) norms. With this, Suzuki GSX-8R aligns with the latest emission regulations while continuing to offer performance-oriented ride that meets the needs of both enthusiasts and everyday riders.

Commenting on this, Mr. Deepak Mutreja, Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. said, “The OBD-2B update on the GSX-8R enhances its performance with improved emission monitoring, keeping it aligned with the latest regulatory requirements. This ensures that customers continue to enjoy a refined and responsive riding experience that also meets evolving environmental standards.”

The Suzuki GSX-8R is powered by a 776cc parallel twin DOHC 4-valve-per-cylinder engine paired with a 270-degree crankshaft, delivering a blend of smooth controllable power and a pleasing rumble with engine note similar to a V-twin engine. Suzuki’s patented Cross Balancer* suppresses vibration and contributes to

smooth operation.

The motorcycle features Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.) that provides advanced electronic rider assist systems including Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS), the Suzuki Traction Control System (STCS)**, Ride-by-wire Electronic Throttle System, Bi-directional Quick Shift System, Suzuki Easy Start System and Low RPM Assist. It is also equipped with a six-speed transmission and Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS). The styling of Suzuki GSX-8R is highlighted by its mass-forward stance, forged aluminium separate handlebars, aerodynamically proven windscreen, and vertically stacked hexagonal LED headlights.

It comes equipped with Hitachi Astemo (SHOWA) SFF-BP*** inverted front forks, paired with a Hitachi Astemo (SHOWA) link-type mono-shock rear suspension with preload adjuster. Braking is handled by dual four-piston radial-mount front brake callipers with 310 mm outer diameter dual discs. It rides on lightweight cast aluminium wheels with Dunlop RoadSport 2 radial tyres.

The Suzuki GSX-8R is offered in three striking colours: Metallic Triton Blue, Metallic Matte Sword Silver, and Metallic Matte Black No.2. It is available at INR 9,25,000/- (ex-showroom Delhi) across Suzuki’s big bike dealerships in India.

* Patent granted for biaxial primary balancer that positions its two balancers at 90°to the crankshaft.

** The Traction Control System is not a substitute for the rider’s throttle control. It cannot prevent loss of traction due to excessive speed when the rider enters a turn and/or applies the brakes. Neither can it prevent the front wheel from losing grip.

*** SFF-BP is a registered trademark of Hitachi Astemo, Ltd.
