TVS has recently received the trademark for Apache RTX, a development which confirms that the launch of this new adventure bike is imminent. The speculation of its development has been doing the rounds for a while but now with the company receiving a trademark. the hearsay about the launch of Apache RTX is finally been confirmed. Just so you know, the segment of adventure bikes in India is currently dominated by Royal Enfield Himalayan, BMW G 310 GS, Suzuki V-Strom SX 250, KTM Adventure, and Hero XPulse among others. The launch of the new Apache RTX will heat the competition further by making choices wider for prospective buyers than before.
The new adventure bike will come with a 313 cc, single-cylinder engine capable of putting out 33.52 bhp along with 28 Nm of torque. The gearbox will feature a 6-speed ratio and as TVS share the platform with BMW for 313 cc segment bikes, we expect the new bike to feature similar mechanical bits as seen on BMW G 310 GS.
In terms of the significant features of the Apache RTX, enthusiasts can expect a dual-channel ABS, USD front fork suspension, and adjustable shock absorbers with a preloading feature at the rear. TVS will also equip the bike with a fully loaded LED cluster that will offer a wealth of information to riders. The smartphone connectivity feature via Bluetooth is also expected to make its way on the upcoming bike.
The pricing will be officially revealed at the launch but we guesstimate it to be in the range of Rs 3 lakh to Rs 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be interesting to witness how Apache RTX will change the dynamics of the adventure bike segment. The category is already attracting a lot of interest from bike makers and with TVS coming up with yet another bike after Apache RR 310, it’ll firmly position itself as a credible player in the minds of adventure-seeking riders.
