Tata Nexon is here to revolutionize the compact SUV segment as it plans to launch this very competent product in the market
Tata is all set to take the market by storm, but slowly and steadily, with one or two products every year, in the budget category. Yes, under the 10 lakh mark you can expect a lot more from the brand. Compact SUV, compact sedans, compact hatch and much more. Nexon, codename for a sub four meter SUV is all set to come to the market. It wooed audience at the Auto Expo 2016 with its design, interiors and promise of a great price. Most details are out of the car, we have a new spyshots for you which showcases the clean design and most importantly, the 16-inch wheels which look very impressive.
Tata Nexon Engine, Specification and Mileage
Tata is working on a brand new diesel engine for the new Nexon and it will be a 1500cc unit. Four-cylinder motor will be turbocharged and inter-cooled and should deliver around 100 PS of power. The power ratings are pretty much standard in the segment as every competitor in the category has the same. Four-cylinder petrol engine will also make it to the engine bay and it will be a 1.2 l unit producing around 90 PS of power. Petrol unit could be a next generation Revotron motor which is expected to be all aluminium and turbocharged. Expect class leading numbers for diesel which should be around 25 km/l and petrol delivering 16-17 km/l.
Tata Nexon Design and Dimensions
What’s going for the Nexon the most is the way it’s styled. We see pictures here which show the production version and it had jaws dropped at the Auto Expo 2016. The 4-meter SUV is clearly going places with unique design of the roof and the window line that has a separate which runs all the way from front to the end. The front is typical modern design Tata’s that we have seen with the Zest to the Tiago and now see it here on the Nexon itself. The new design of the alloy wheel can be seen here and we hope most of the concept makes it to the production version.

Tata Nexon Interiors and Features
This is where the Nexon is going to score 10/10 marks. High quality interiors and even better layout of the car when it comes dashboard and infotainment system mounting point. The touchscreen tablet is clearly inspired from the Mercedes-Benz range of small cars, the interior is well finished, the controls seem well laid-out and there is also a lot of storage places. Connectivity options included, we can also expect 6-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system, parking sensors, camera, steering mounted controls, dual zone climate control and much more.

Tata Nexon Launch And Price
If going by the pricing strategy Tata has taken for the Tiago, the Nexon will offer more value with its offering surpassing its competition. Prices should start at 4.9-5.5 lakhs for base petrol variant. Launch is rescheduled for late 2017.
Tata Nexon Safety Features
ABS, EBD, BA, CSC along with dual airbags should be standard on all variants of the compact SUV or else a safety package on every variant should cost around the Rs. 15-20,000 mark.
