Tata Motors has successfully reached an early and significant milestone by delivering 10,000 units of the newly relaunched Tata Sierra SUV to customers across the domestic market. Celebrating this achievement, the automaker took to social media to announce the return of its iconic badge, stating, “10,000 Sierras delivered. A legacy, back where it belongs — on the road.” This rapid delivery milestone underscores the strong market reception the revived nameplate has received since its official launch in November 2025, with actual customer handovers having commenced in mid-January 2026.
Positioned in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment, the modern Sierra is built on Tata’s advanced ARGOS architecture. To cater to a wide range of driving preferences, the vehicle is available with three distinct powertrain options: a 1.5-litre Hyperion T-GDi turbo-petrol, a 1.5-litre Revotron naturally aspirated petrol, and a 1.5-litre Kryojet diesel engine. These engines can be paired with multiple transmission choices, including manual, dual-clutch automatic, and torque converter automatic gearboxes.
In addition to its versatile performance capabilities, the new Sierra is equipped with Level 2+ Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and a host of modern safety and comfort features. This launch represents a core component of Tata Motors’ broader strategy to strengthen its SUV lineup by reviving legacy models with contemporary platforms and technology for a new generation of buyers.
